Frequently Asked Questions

How did the House of Peace come to be?

Rick and Linda Crosby were purposely looking for land outside the city where starry night skies are not dimmed by street lights. The perfect spot was found in New River, Arizona. In 2022, they built the House of Peace for the purpose of welcoming, blessing and caring for others, and providing a place of rest, healing, and ministry.

The six-bedroom home sits in a desert oasis, adjacent to state land with unobstructed views of God’s southwestern beauty. The House of Peace is nestled in the country on a dirt road where stillness permeates the property. Come sit on the serene back porch and watch the antics of rabbits, birds, and deer. Peaceful evenings around the cozy fire pit provide a pause to busy schedules and allow you to slow down and enjoy God’s creation, great company, as well as a s’more or two. The stunning Arizona sunsets will not disappoint!

Where is the House of Peace located?

The House of Peace is a pet-free and smoke-free environment located in New River, Arizona, a 45-minute drive north of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Transportation from the airport to the House of Peace is available by Uber, Lyft or rental car. Sedona is an hour and twenty minutes further north. The south rim of the Grand Canyon is a three-hour road trip from the house.

Who are these retreats for?

These retreats are for adult women who are ready to allow God to reach deep so they can move forward in many areas of life through group sessions, worship, prayer, journaling and friendship.

Who is this NOT for?

If you are currently experiencing significant health, mental or emotional challenges that would prevent you from traveling safely or creating a peaceful, confidential, and supportive environment for others, this retreat is not for you at this time. It is not for people who are unwilling to allow God to minister to them and raise their walk of faith.

Can I book a private group retreat for my church or friends?

Yes! If you have a private group of 5 -7 women who wish to attend together, please contact us directly. (Having seven women attend means four women are sharing two king size beds.) We may be able to schedule a private retreat tailored to the needs of your group.

What should I bring to the retreat?

When your application is approved, you will receive an email with a suggested packing list, driving directions, and emergency contact information.

Can I stay an extra night?

Yes, there is an add-on option of staying an additional night at the House of Peace for only $75. On the last day of the retreat, dinner will be on your own in town. You’ll spend one more comfy night in your private bedroom. A continental breakfast will be provided for you and check-out time is 9:00 a.m.

Can I come a day late or leave early?

The schedule has been carefully planned to allow for maximum impact in the time provided. We do not recommend missing any sessions. If you have a scheduling conflict, please let us know on the application because it may or may not be conducive to the group process.

If my application is accepted but I have to cancel, can I get a refund?

Due to extremely limited spaces available, refunds may not be available but will be considered on an individual basis. If your space ends up being filled, we will refund your application fee.
